woman ... Sigh of relief

So, the holidays are over. THANK GOODNESS!

Don't get me wrong, Christmas is essential to Christianity so it has a special meaning to me. HOWEVER, the commercialism, monetary expectations, and general busyness of the season do not. We had house guests or somewhere to go every week from December 6th through New Year's Eve. Throw in having to help Larry plan for the church service he led last weekend, and maybe you'll see why the past month has stressed me greatly. If you know of my past aversion to socializing, you'll understand completely.

Now, I am getting better about coming out of my shell to interact with people, so that does help, but I finally reached my breaking point this past Thursday night. I collapsed into tears from the pressure, unable to keep going. I'm not even sure if I'll make it to church tonight. I feel like those celebrities who call off tour dates for "exhaustion", except I guess that I'm really exhausted and they're usually drugged out or have a hangnail.

Anyway, the holidays are over for another year, and I welcome the (relative) calm that awaits. Homeschooling starts again on Monday, with the addition of our son, so that will be a new adventure. We have field trips planned for the year which should entertain both kids and adults (we hope) and help them learn a great deal. I'll do my best to blog about them and post pictures as we finish them up.

So, have a blessed weekend and upcoming week, and I will renew my efforts to blog at least a couple times a week.
