Christian ... Transformed (Part 1)

Probably the single most powerful event in my walk with Christ occurred on May 31, 2008. It was several events actually, leading to an awe filled day.

The day began early, about 5 AM. We woke up and started the trek to Kansas City to help my brother move back to Indiana and in with us. The drive was stressful, with a phone call I wasn't expecting or wanting, and pretty darn long. I was so tired that I didn't even notice the huge cross in Effingham, IL as we went past.

We got to KC and picked up Randy's truck, all under the threat of dark rain clouds. We prayed for the rain to hold off long enough for us to get all of Randy's possessions out of his apartment. Clouds would approach, but in His majestic power they would never reach us, and we even enjoyed quite a bit of sun as we heaved everything out to the moving truck.

Soon, we were back on the road, I-70 back towards Indiana. We had thought that perhaps driving round trip in one day was foolish, especially when we were moving into a new apartment this same weekend. But as we left KC, following Randy, there was a sense of peace and righteousness about it. Little did we know what He had in store for us.
