Christian ... Daily Dose

I've been listening to The Daily Audio Bible (DAB) for several days now, as well as its partner, The Daily Audio Proverb. Larry's been listening for a long time and finally convinced me to try it when I got my new MP3 player. I have found them both to be extremely helpful in my walk with Christ.

The Daily Audio Bible is a podcast that leads you on a year long trek through the Bible, about a half hour at a time. There is section of Old Testament Scripture, New Testament Scripture, a Psalm, and a Proverb. The translation changes each week. For example, November 1st included from the New Living Translation:

Ezekiel 1:1 to 3:15
Hebrews 3:1-19
Psalm 104:1-23
Proverb 26:24-26

There is variety in the reading so that you don't get weighed down in any one part, and Brian talks for a few minutes at the end, relating what he read to our lives today. Currently, much of what strikes him is correlating with the elections. This evening, at 11 PM ET, for two hours, the DAB community is getting together for a live chat/call-in to pray for the elections. Not partisan, not to pray for our will, but His will. That we, as His workers for His kingdom, we will do our part to carry out His will.

The Daily Audio Proverb is very similar, read by the same person, Brian Hardin. The translation changes everyday, and the proverb follows the day of the month; Proverbs 1 on the 1st, and so on. It's about five or six minutes long and Brian talks briefly afterward.

If you are looking for a way to read the Bible that's portable and different and refreshing, I highly recommend this. It truly is a great place to find like-minded Christians and help in your quest to follow God's plan.
